The Sports Hall is a 10,000-seat indoor arena, and the Athletics Stadium is a 15,000-seat track and field venue. Both are the largest of their types in the country. These facilities have been designed to be used at all levels up to international competition, as well as for training. Saudi Media Systems engineered and installed the scoring systems, video and large screen displays in both of the facilities, providing the largest high definition LED sports screens in the region. The systems are designed to be flexible so that they can be reconfigured for a wide range of sports, and can also be used for cultural events and exhibitions.

Athletics Stadium Scoreboard System

The Athletics Stadium scoreboard is an 11 x 6 meter HD video display that blends with the futuristic architecture of the King Abdullah Sports City. Saudi Media Systems engineered, constructed and integrated the scoreboard system from reinforced concrete pedestal and steel frame structure to the custom aluminum cladding and LED panels.

The scoring system can manage all Olympic track and field events as well as other outdoor sports such as football, field hockey, lacrosse and rugby. In the Control Room, a studio-grade video system manages multiple sources via a 4K vision mixer and routing matrix. A touch screen remote control system handles all AV equipment in the Control Room as well as the climate controls and display processors at the LED scoreboard.

Sports Hall Scoreboard System

The Sports Hall scoreboard system is comprised of a central scoreboard cube, two (2) end scoreboards, shot clocks, possession arrows, backboard LED illuminators and signaling horns and alarms. The central scoreboard is a 3-tier structure with upper and lower ribbons in addition to the 4-sided main display. Saudi Media Systems engineered, constructed and integrated the scoreboard system, which includes synchronized hoists that lowers the LED scoreboards for routine cleaning and maintenance.

The scoring system is FIBA-certified for hosting international basketball tournaments, and the system also supports other Olympic sports including volleyball, handball, indoor football, badminton, tennis, table tennis, gymnastics and others. The Sports Hall video system supports HD and 4K video sources with interface plates and distribution network throughout the arena. IIn the Control Room, a studio-grade video system manages multiple sources via a 4K vision mixer and routing matrix. A touchscreen remote control system handles all AV equipment.
